Approximately 100 miles - a perfect day trip.

Driving Directions:

Begin in Grant at Nelson’s Farm Market (469 W. 112th St.) where you can choose from a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables AND find some special touches for your Fairy Garden.

Go North on 37 into Newaygo.

Explore Downtown Newaygo, including Bay Leaf Books, Sui Generis Home Furnishings and The New Ewe.  And don’t forget to pick up a bottle of wine at the Gala Gourmet for when you get home!

Follow Croton Drive East toward the Croton and Hardy Dams.  Croton Drive becomes Hardy Drive.  This is a great scenic drive during any season, but fall color along this route can be very vibrant during the peak color season.

Continue past the Hardy Dam and head straight north on Elm Ave. towards M-20.  Head west into White Cloud where you can stretch your legs at one of their beautiful, quiet scenic parks.  Mill Pond Park and Raceway Rotary Park have playground equipment and benches that allow little ones to run off some energy and any that likes can bask in the serenity of the outdoors and the White River.

Resume your Color Tour by heading straight north on M-37 all the way to 11 Mile and head west.  At Comstock Ave. turn south, and west on 4 Mile, south on Dickinson and turn west on M20 straight in to Hesperia.

Heritage Farm Market is three miles south of Hesperia on M120/Maple Island Rd.  Enjoy a Hayride, brave the corn maze or just watch the apple presses and sample some homemade pie before you head out again. Continue on Maple Island Rd, and on the corner of 82 & Maple Island you will find the Maple Island Pie Factory.  A local favorite!

Continue south on M120/Maple Island Rd and turn east onto 82 towards Fremont.  Explore Downtown Fremont’s many consignment and retail shops, stop for an ice cream at the Koffe Kuppe, and you are on your way.

Follow 82 east and south, and then continue south on Warner Ave towards Bridgeton.  Stop and take in the brand new Bridgeton Boat Launch on the Muskegon River.  From Bridgeton head east on 112th St. and end up right where you started in Grant.
